What is Complexion?
We are a jazz band whose complex rhythms and arrangements combine to produce a sound that can engage you on a number of levels. Simple enough to be easy on the ear when you want background music for a special occasion, or more complex textures for the jazz afficionado, Complexion specialises in jazz of the modern rather than traditional idiom and is flexible enough to adapt its set to your requirements.
The band is a quartet of bass, guitar, saxophones and drums, with a vocalist if required, and draws both on musicians who have studied jazz at degree level and have considerable experience in the field of post 1940s jazz as well as those who have vast experience of music in different genres. All have worked as professional musicians and educators for a number of years.
